Scrolling through DirtyDirtyDancing’s flickr archives is real a treat. Photographer Alistair Allan has such a knack for capturing 2000’s party goers in the midst of their ecstasy (and capturing their incredible outfits and style), making you want to jump up and dance right with them. How could you not?
It's hard to not say something about how these photos make you want to relive the glory days of the indie sleaze club scene and pre-social media partying when everything felt less performative and more "authentic," but nonetheless there is a je ne sais quoi factor that makes these photos so much more appealing (in my eyes at least) than more recent attempts to bring back sleazy party photography.
Maybe it's messy, raw, and euphoric facial expressions captured in each photography, or the lack of filler-induced "instagram face," or just the rosy glow of nostalgia—either way, I'm just glad to relive the past through these photos.
