scans from street magazine, october 2003

I am SOOOOOOOOOO fucking excited to share these scans from Street Magazine.  I have slow-but-steadily growing collection of fashion magazines from the 2000's (for research purposes of course) and Street is by far one of my favorites.

Started by Shoichi Aoki, the creator of FRUiTS magazine, Street documents street style (duh) found in the western world, usually in cities like London, New York City, and Paris.  The outfits are so good and satisfying (I'm thinking of when Carrie Bradshaw said that Vogue fed her more than an actual dinner—that's how I feel about Street), and I always get crazy inspired to rack up some credit card debt on Depop or at the thrifts because of how #inspired I get after flipping through and visually dissecting each look.

Anyways, without further ado!  These are my favorite scans from the october 2003 edition of Street Magazine.  Hope you like them as much as I do:

Obsessed with those legwarmers.  Need to get into that.

I loveee a good plaid skirt moment and this one with that white belt is just too cool

the iconic Che Guevara tee had to make it in

Statement graphic tees always get a big YES from me—especially when I agree with the statement they're making

Denim mini skirts will always be the cutest thing to me.  Love how this one was paired with a simple vest and red ballet flats—simple but not boring.

This picture made me realize that I haven't been dressing to my fullest potential because I don't own any flouncy skirts like that or lace leggings.  Need to get on that wave.  This girl is lightyears ahead of me stylewise.

I love how dishelved this outfit is—such a cool way of tying that scarf too.

Outfit is giving part Neo from the Matric and part Madonna back up dancer from the '80s and it WORKS.

Those necklaces totally make the outfit.

Saved my personal favorite for last.  The denim mini skirt.  The slouchy hoodie.  The layered shirts.  YESSSSSSS I am definitely going to be stealing this look.
