In retrospect, I can see why the world went mad for bokeh in the early days of social media. It brings a soft, romantic touch to an image, it adds whimsy (sorry I know that word is so overused right now), and its colors and gentle focus are so pleasing to look at. It’s not jaded; it’s childlike and playful, almost a little naive. The soft circles make me feel like I’m 13 again, nestled in an Abercrombie hoodie and Ugg boots, sipping a Starbucks latte next to a christmas tree or some shit. Bokeh really takes me back.
